LOVEY/GABBY

From Lovey's new Family:

Lovey was the name you all tag to her, and we thought she made a wonderful Princess. After careful thought our 14-year-old son named her Gabriel. We call her Gabby. I promised to send a photo along with this letter. Please give the photo to the Web Master.  That's who we were told would be interested in seeing a picture of Gabby.

Gabby has a large family.  We have four children. The ages of our children are 18, 16, 14, and 12. We have two other dogs.  We have an 85-pound lab, and a dachshund. He's 10 years old.  Oh, and a fish.  All the dogs are inside pets.  No, we are not crazy.  Yes. We keep a very clean house.

Gabby is well fed and a very spoiled pup. Oh, she also goes by the name Baby Girl. My 18-year-old daughter and I were the only females in the house until Gabby came along!.

Daffy Goes to New York

5/01

This is a shaggy dog story about a Picayune pup who won the hearts of a New York family via the internet and ended up flying to the Big Apple. "we love the dog.  She's great," said Yolanta Wisniewski in a telephone interview. For almost a week Yolanta, her husband and two daughters have been the proud owners of Daffy via efforts of the Pearl River County SPCA who worked with the family to have the dog adopted and shipped up to the family's home in Liberty, N.Y.  The saga started when Yolanta, who had searched the internet for months, saw this mug shot of the 8 month old Border Collie over the internet. The SPCA had posted the picture on their web site shortly after receiving her on May 14th. One picture was worth a thousand words. She met the dog of her dreams in cyber space, jumped on the phone and called the local shelter.

"I don't know what it was.  I just looked at the picture and knew this was the dog for me." said Yolanta. After interviewing the family and deciding they really wanted the dog, the Shelter worked closely with the family to arrange logistics of shipping the dog via airline to Newark, NJ where they would pick her up.  This was the first time the shelter had shipped a dog anywhere. Daffy caught a Continental flight to New Jersey where she met her new family, new life, and new name.  This was the first time the shelter ever shipped one of the dogs that people found on the internet.  People have come from Houston, Hattiesburg, and Mobile to adopt Shelter pets they found on the internet.

Abie in her new home

There is no doubt but that little South Mississippi stray has become a rich New York dog.  Great story.

Dog's life?  Some people should have it so good!

Abie in her private Garden.

Abie proves you can't take all the Mississippi out of a dog.  Stuffed toys don't stay that way long.
In her Garden with her new "sister", Lillie.  She has grown and is flourishing in a WONDERFUL home.

Sparkie Gets a Big Playground

Baxter (Sparkie) is home now and doing well after the neutering and heartworm therapy.  He is thriving and doing so good.  He is *supposed* to be resting and not having ANY exercise but he is so excited to be here that we have a hard time keeping him down.  Over the past few weeks since we got him, we really have gotten attached and even mentioned while he was at the vet how much we missed him.  He either sleeps on the bed with me (not Amy! I think he really likes being by our dachshund Chess) or he sleeps on a feather pillow beside my bed.  So far he gets along well with all the cats and Chess.  He loves being outside as we have 26 acres of land for him to play on and we don't live close to the road.  I will send you updates periodically.  I hope all the animals there are able to find homes.                Sparkie's new Mom....

Boscoe's Story

Hi, I was looking on the internet for a dog that my husband and I could adopt and we came across Boscoe.  Both of us instantly fell in love with him and we were wondering how we could go about adopting him from you.  We live in New Orleans, so we could come out there for him as soon as possible, we just need to know what we need to do to get that adorable little guy here quicker.

If you could get back to us as soon as possible it would be greatly appreciated.   Thank you so much for your time and for posting that precious picture of Boscoe!!!!!

Just to let you know, Boscoe is doing just fine.  He loves the backyard and his toys and the attention.  Also, everyone who has met him loves him.  He is very friendly and loves his belly rubs, in fact, my husband and I can't leave or come back home without giving him one.
Once again, thank you so much for everything and as soon as we get some pictures of him in his new surroundings, I'll email them to you!

Ralph

Hi Maria,
We are the family that adopted Ralph.  I guess that > you got my e-mail late.

He is just wonderful.  We are thoroughly enjoying him.  He has his appt. with our vet. this morning.

He has already been to the "salon" and "WOW!!", what a difference a haircut can make.  We will keep in touch and send a picture soon.

P.S.--we changed his name to Biscuit (My father's name is Ralph--it was a
bit confusing for the kids to keep the name Ralph) He is responding very well to his new name.
