Pearl River County SPCA Launches "20K for 20K" Fundraiser to Celebrate 20,000 Followers

Picayune, MS - June 14, 2024 - The Pearl River County SPCA is thrilled to announce the launch of its "20K for 20K" fundraiser, celebrating the milestone of reaching 20,000 followers on Facebook. This special fundraiser aims to raise $20,000—just $1 for each follower—to support the shelter's mission of providing care, shelter, and love to homeless pets.

The funds raised through this campaign will be dedicated to purchasing new commercial-grade washer and dryer units. The current equipment frequently breaks down, and reliable units are essential to maintaining a clean and healthy environment for the animals.

"We have been truly blessed and amazed by the incredible support from our community whenever we ask for help,” said Judy Wheaton, Vice President of the Pearl River County SPCA. “Whether it’s funding for expensive medical treatments, essential supplies like Vienna sausages for giving medication to our dogs, kitten milk, or peanut butter, or their time and effort at adoption events, transporting dogs, assisting at our Wellness Clinic, and participating in Street Fair activities. We could not achieve what we do for the pets in our care without their unwavering support."

The Pearl River County SPCA is calling on its community and supporters to participate in the "20K for 20K" fundraiser. Every dollar makes a difference, and contributions of any amount help cover essential expenses. Increased awareness through sharing the fundraiser with friends and family will mean more support for the cause. Supporters are also encouraged to create personal fundraisers on Facebook and invite their networks to contribute, setting personal goals to boost donations.

The Pearl River County SPCA is grateful for the community's continued support and looks forward to using this milestone to make a real difference in the lives of shelter animals. Together, we can ensure that every animal finds a loving home.
